This past week I had the privilege to be on campus at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to hear the inimitable Dr. Don Carson deliver the Seminary’s annual Sizemore Lectures. For those who are not acquainted with him, Dr. Carson is Research Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and President of The Gospel Coalition.
Dr. Carson spoke twice from Luke’s gospel: on Tuesday from Luke 10 (The Parable of the Good Samaritan) and on Wednesday from Luke 16 (The Rich Man & Lazarus). Dr. Carson’s expositions were masterful both in carefully handling the text and in pastoral application. Each lecture is approximately 45 minutes, and I highly recommend both.
You may also be interested to view a public conversation between Dr. Carson and Dr. Jason K. Allen, President of MBTS, during which Dr. Carson answered a variety of questions from Dr. Allen and the audience.
