I just returned home from a business trip to Buffalo, NY. The majority of the meetings I attended were held in a room named for President Millard Filmore. Surprisingly, the sign outside the Filmore Room reads:
1800-1874 Thirteenth President of the United States
In his rise from a log cabin and law practice in
Buffalo to wealth and the White House, he
demonstrated that through methodical industry
and some competence an uninspiring man could
make the American dream come true.
You can find the origin of the wonderful epitaph here.
Anyone else hoping to be remembered more fondly after they pass?
