I serve as Senior Vice President for Institutional Administration and as Associate Professor of Business and Christian Studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Spurgeon College. As an executive, I lead the institution’s administrative, financial, and operational functions and direct its major projects. As a professor, I regularly teach courses in business, economics, and finance, and I serve as the Faculty Coordinator for the Business Leadership program at Spurgeon College.

I joined Midwestern Seminary in August 2017 following a twenty-year career in investment management, during which I managed portfolios for a diverse clientele, including prominent endowments, foundations, and pension plans. In 2008 I founded Aquifer Capital, a boutique asset management firm and hedge fund sponsor. From its founding through 2017, Aquifer served as an investment adviser to charitable endowments and as the originating sponsor and sole investment adviser to the Aquifer Funds. I continue to serve as the President and Chief Investment Officer of Aquifer Capital, which since 2018 has focused exclusively on managing affiliated capital and providing pro bono endowment counsel to nonprofit organizations.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis and three advanced degrees from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min., Th.M., and M.T.S.). My doctoral dissertation, titled “A Trinitarian Pedagogy for Biblical Integration in Business Leadership,” developed a unique theory of biblical integration and a pedagogical method for teaching undergraduate students to apply Scripture to the study and practice of business. I am a CFA charterholder and a member of CFA Institute, CFA Society Phoenix, the Christian Business Faculty Association, the Association of Christian Economists, and Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society.

Beyond my responsibilities at Midwestern and Aquifer, I serve on the Board of Trustees of Bethlehem College and Seminary (Minneapolis, Minnesota), on the Board of Directors of Washed in the Word (St. Augustine, Florida), and as the Treasurer of Heritage Baptist Church (Kansas City, Missouri).

My wife, Raechel, and I married in 2019 and now make our home in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Kansas City, Missouri. When not occupied with professional or charitable endeavors, I enjoy spending time with Raechel, studying philosophy and theology, traveling, cycling, collecting art, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
